This Account Cannot be signed into this PS4 (WS-44949-0)

One of the PS4 sign-in common problems is that when you try to sign into your PS4, you get an error message saying: “This Account Cannot be signed into this PS4” with an error code number (WS-44949-0). The weird part of this problem is that you can still sign into your PS4 from other devices, such as mobile phone, PC, or even a PS5.

Reset your PSN account’s password

This is the most common solution for Error (WS-44949-0). You need to do that either from your phone or PlayStation website.

In order to reset your PSN password, do the following:

  1. Go to the Account Management sign-in page and select Trouble Signing in? > Reset your password and enter your sign-in ID (email address).

  1. Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Security > 2-Step Verification.
  2. Select Activate if not already.

    If anyone else is experiencing this error and is unable to sign in to the PS4 device despite being able to sign in via phone, PC, or even a PS5, here’s how to fix it:

    – Attempt Password Reset (from the phone app or PlayStation website )
    – Set all of your privacy settings to “No One” and enable 2-factor authentication (even add a different number if already activated and use it for the code)
