Press The PS Button To Use The Controller Not Working [Fixed]
One of the common issues with the PS4 controllers is that when you turn on your PS4, it asks you on a blue screen to connect your PS4 controller and press the PS button to continue.
Connect the DUALSHOCK 4 controller using the USB cable, and then press the PS button.
But unfortunately, sometimes this won’t work and users keep trying to press the PS button and nothing happens.
Why does this happen? Well, it’s because the PS4 system couldn’t recognize the controller and thus doesn’t accept its signals.
Here’s how to work around this problem and get your controller working again on your PS4:
- Turn off your PS4 and unplug it from the power source and leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.
- Unplug your PS4 controller and hard reset it. In order to hard reset your PS4 controller, you need to use a paper clip or a needle and insert it into the hole located at the back of your controller and hold it down for around 5 seconds.
- Once you’ve done that, plug in your PS4 controller to the PS4 using a USB cable and then turn on your PlayStation 4.
- This time when the blue screen appears, press the PS button on your controller and it should work just fine.
If this method didn’t work for you, then repeat these steps once more, but this time you have to disconnect the PS4 controller’s battery before resetting it.
So, you turn off your PS4 and unplug it. Open the cover of the PS4 controller and disconnect the battery. Leave it disconnected for 5 minutes then reconnect it. Now, do a hard reset and connect it to the PS4. Turn on the PS4 and this should resolve your issue.
